Forms of Torture is a game made by Faran, LLC, for players 13 and over.
We receive nothing ourselves. Faran runs no servers for Forms of Torture and never receives data about you or how you play. The game itself plays offline.
Ads (Android). The free game shows ads from Google AdMob: one now and then between fields, and an optional video you can choose to watch to appeal a Resubmit rejection. To show and measure them, Google's ads code collects your device's advertising ID, your approximate location (from your IP address), how you interact with the ads and diagnostic data, under Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services. The ads are rated for general audiences. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google asks for your consent first, and Privacy choices on the cover changes your choice. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
Remove Ads. A one-time purchase through Google Play ends the ads between fields. Google handles the payment under its own privacy policy, and we never see your payment details. The purchase is kept on your device, and Google Play restores it on a new phone signed in to the same Google account.
Your progress stays on your device. Your fields, stars, best times, settings, Today's form results, streak and Resubmit best are stored on your phone or tablet, in the app's own storage. If you have device backups turned on, your phone may include them in your own Google backup, which we can't see. Deleting the app deletes them.
Nothing you type is yours. The names, phone numbers, birthdays, addresses and codes the fields ask for are made up by the game, and the photo and liveness fields are drawings: the game never uses your camera, microphone, contacts or location.
Sharing. Share on Today's form opens your phone's share sheet with a short text of your result. Nothing is sent unless you pick where it goes.
Changes. If a future version changes any of this, we will update this page and the app's store listing before that version ships.
